We are looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
We move in on 11th August and will be around for the following week and a half. We would be very happy for you to pop by to say hello if you can find us amongst all the boxes! Obviously, we’ll have to go out from time to time so, if you are coming a distance, you may like to give us a ring beforehand to make sure we are in.
A bit of background information
We both grew up in York and got to know each other through the Methodist Church we attended. Alec was aware that Marian would possibly offer for the ministry when we got engaged and has been very supportive ever since.
We have two sons: Alex (25) is a secondary school teacher in Huddersfield and Nathan (23) works in communications in London. You will hopefully get to meet them at some point in the next few years.
We join you from the Barnsley Methodist Circuit where we have spent the last five years. For the previous ten years we were based in Hexham, Northumberland as part of the Tynedale Methodist Circuit which was Marian’s first appointment. The itinerancy of Methodism has led Alec to explore a variety of employment opportunities over the years from working in social housing to working in education. Currently, Alec works as Fundraising and Community Relations Coordinator for Age UK Barnsley, a role he plans to continue by commuting/working from home.
We are looking forward to getting to know the local community and to exploring with you how God is leading us into the future.
